Teslin at a Glance
Home of the Teslin
Tlingit First Nation group, Teslin is a lakeside community located on the
Alaska
Highway at Teslin
Lake. With its numerous waterways, Teslin and the surrounding areas offer
prime watersports action including canoeing, kayaking and power boating. Several
campgrounds in the region also provide recreational opportunities such as fishing
and hiking in the summer, and snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter.
Nature enthusiasts can make a day trip out to the Nisutlin
River Delta, a national wildlife area known for its birdwatching. Learn more

Tlingit Heritage Centre, showcasing cultural artifacts and displays, or visit
the George
Johnston Museum, featuring photographs by the respected Tlingit elder George
Johnston. An impressive sight, the Nisutlin
Bay Bridge spans 584 m (1916 ft), making it the longest bridge on the Alaska
Highway.
